The Challenge
The company's website hadn't been updated since 2007 — nearly two decades of web evolution had passed it by. Beyond the dated experience, the business was invisible where local customers actually look: no Google Business listing, no structured data, and no local search presence to speak of.
As a direct client engagement, I handled all of it solo — UX design, development, migration, deployment, and the technical SEO strategy.
What I Did
01 Redesign & Rebuild
A 2007-era site couldn't represent a company that had been serving Bozeman for over 25 years — on any screen size.
A ground-up redesign built as a custom Vue/Nuxt.js site: modern, fast, responsive, and structured around the two actions that matter for an HVAC business — call or send a service request.

02 Local Search Foundation
Customers searching “HVAC Bozeman” couldn't find the company — there was no Google Business listing and no structured data for search engines to work with.
Set up their Google Business listing and implemented full schema.org LocalBusiness markup across the site, giving local search everything it needs to surface the business.
03 Migration & Free Hosting
The old site carried a legacy hosting bill of over $40/month for a site that barely changed.
Migrated everything to static hosting on Netlify — faster delivery, zero hosting cost, and deploys the owner never has to think about.
The Outcome
A small-business engagement covering the full stack of my work — UX, development, and search strategy. The site went from a 2007 relic to a modern Vue/Nuxt build that actually generates business: 5x the form submissions, nearly double the calls, and a hosting bill of zero.
